About the Executive Director

Founder and Executive Director Randy Haveson has been working as a counselor and university administrator since 1987. He has an M.A. in counseling and extensive experience working as a therapist in treatment centers, private practices, and agencies, primarily in the field of addiction. Randy has also served as a drug and alcohol counselor and coordinated substance abuse education programs on three college campuses around the country, receiving national recognition for his work with students and administrators. As well as being the founder of The HERO House, Randy is also a professional speaker, traveling across the country to educate college students about alcohol and other drug use and abuse, as well as topics related to leadership and self-esteem. Randy has been in recovery from his own addiction since May of 1984.

About the Program Director

Brook Nash graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Major in Health Promotion.  She received her Masters in Public Health from the University of Georgia, focusing on health promotion planning and program evaluation.  She has worked with the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety Young Adult Program, focusing on substance abuse prevention for college students statewide as well as the DUI Courts.  Brook is a Certified Health Education Specialist, a Health Fitness Instructor through the American College of Sports Medicine and is the Assistant Director for the Georgia Network on Substance Abuse Prevention in Higher Education. 

 


About the Director of Client Services

Marc Pimsler has been working as an Addiction Counselor for three years.  He is an experienced recovery life coach with an extensive background in addiction.  Marc has had the opportunity to work in all aspects of the continuum of care; detox, primary treatment and after-care.  Marc specializes in difficult to treat clients and takes a “meet them where they’re at” approach to his coaching.  Marc is also a certified yoga instructor, bringing balance and spirituality to his work.  As a proud member of the 12-step program, he brings a deep and profound knowledge of the experience of recovery.  

 


About the House Managers

Scott Lasky has been with The HERO House since May 2007, working as a House Manager and Facilities Director.  Scott graduated from San Diego State University receiving his Bachelors in Business Administration and Industrial Studies, is a Certified Network Technician, and has over 15 years of managerial experience.

 
     

Stephanie Seawright is currently pursuing her nursing degree and has worked at The HERO House since April 2007.  She loves children and works part-time as a nanny.  Stephanie was born and raised in Georgia, and is an avid Bulldog fan.  She has also been working in her own recovery since February 2005. 

 
     
Shane Cole is a House Manager for the Men’s program at The HERO House and has over a year of leadership experience working as a house crew leader in recovery homes. Currently, he is in school working on his Bachelors in Urban Horticulture and works for the family business part-time. Shane is dedicated to volunteering and spending time with his family and friends in his spare time. Shane has been working a great recovery program since August 2006.
